Horses can't burp or vomit due to them having a strong band of muscles around their oesophagus. This band is so strong that a horse's stomach would burst before it would vomit.

Scientists believe that horses (Equus caballas) have evolved over the past 50 million years from much smaller creatures. They have been domesticated for over 5,000 years. A horses teeth take up a larger amount of space in their head than their brain. Horses can sleep both standing up and lying down. There is only one species of domestic horse, but around 400 breeds. Horses have bigger eyes than any other land mammal. There are 205 bones in the skeleton of a horse. Horses gallop at an average of 27 mph, however the fastest horse sprint ever recorded was a massive 55mph
