Fun Facts!

The Asian Brown Wood Owl (Strix leptogrammica) is one of the larger owls, with an average length of between 45 cm to 57cm. They are perfectly camouflaged to their forest surroundings. These are large powerful birds that fly swiftly and silently through the forests. They are very agile fliers within dense woodland. Normally found up to heights of 2800 metres but the highest recorded pairs lived at altitudes of 4300 metres. This owl has several distinct calls, the most heard are a 'hoo hoo HOO' or a deep 'goke-goke-ga-looo' or a loud scream.
