Their antlers are shed annually in April and new ones grow and are free of velvet in August.

Fun Facts!

Fallow Deer (Dama dama) have very good vision, and can see the tiniest details great distances. The antlers of males can measure as much as 70cm long. They can jump with all four feet in the air. They spend most of the year in single sex herds, only coming together to mate, during which time Stags will engage in antler fighting.
