Whitehouse Farm Centre is the largest Farm Park in Northumberland with a wide and varied collection of animals. We pride ourselves in being able to offer interactive & hands on animal activities for visitors of all ages. There’s more than just the animals here at Whitehouse Farm, we also have lots of indoor and outdoor play to make Whitehouse Farm a great day out. Most importantly we (the staff) are here to ensure that ALL of our visitors go home having had the best day out & experience ever and that they go home talking about it for days & weeks afterwards.

Car-Park/ Play-Area Hosts: 
This Role Involves:
• Observing, maintaining & complying with Whitehouse Farm Centre’s values, policies & procedures.
• Litter picking, car-parking, general cleaning, sweeping, emptying bins and keeping all areas of the
   Centre clean and tidy at all times.
• Supervising/operating  play-areas as required including Donut Dash Slide.
• Always having a friendly smile and conversing with our visitors in a courteous manner, delivering
   outstanding level of Customer Service at all times.
• Being self-motivated & having the ability to work in a pressurised environment adopting ‘A Can Do
   Attitude’ and using own initiative appropriately.
• Being responsible for own safety and not endangering colleagues/visitors in the workplace. •
   Working as part of a team and maintaining good working relations.
• To work in other areas of the farm as required.
• This is an interesting but demanding job which isn’t 9-5 you will be required to work Bank-Holidays, School Holidays and weekends on a weekly rota basis in line with business requirements.

Essential Requirements:

  • Good people skills and being comfortable to communicate with all levels.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to cope in a pressurised environment.
  • Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Flexibility in working practices as it is not 9am-5pm.
  • Prepared to work on a rota-based working on Bank Holidays, School Holidays and weekends.
  • Must be 17 years or above.  

 

Desirable Preferences:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s at C level & above or equivalent. 
  • Must have the ability to adopt new working systems and assimilate new information quickly. 
  • A willingness to learn new skills as required and undertake appropriate training. 
  • First Aid Qualification.

Wages will meet with NMW and will be discussed at time of interview and will depend on qualifications and experience.

This Role Involves: 

  • Observing, maintaining and complying with Whitehouse Farm Centre’s values, its policies & procedures relating to cash handling,   security, hygiene regulations and Safer Food Better Business regulations.
  • Assisting Catering Manager with the day to day running of the café and other areas of responsibility.
  • Being able to carry out basic food prep, food service, clearing tables, washing dishes, cash handling & general cleaning duties as required.
  • Have the ability to Host Birthday Parties. 
  • Having the ability to work independently and being able to work unsupervised in outside food areas.
  • Always having a friendly smile and conversing with our visitors in a courteous manner, delivering outstanding level of Customer Service at all times.
  • Being self-motivated & having the ability to work in a pressurised environment adopting ‘A Can Do Attitude’
  • Assisting with the receipt and storage of deliveries in stock rotation. 
  • Working as part of a team and maintaining good working relations. 
  • Being responsible for own safety and not endangering colleagues/visitors in the workplace.
  • This is an interesting but demanding job which isn’t 9-5 you will be required to work Bank-Holidays, School Holidays and weekends   on a weekly rota basis in line with business requirements.

  • 1 year’s food & beverage experience within a catering & events environment, 
  • Good people skills and being comfortable to communicate with all levels,
  • Self-motivated with the ability to cope in a pressurised environment,
  • Food & Hygiene Knowledge or Certificate to level 2 or recognised equivalent, 
  • Health & Safety knowledge,
  • Flexibility in working practices as it is not 9am-5pm,
  • Prepared to work on a rota-based working on Bank Holidays, School Holidays and weekends,
  • Must be 16 years or above.

WHITEHOUSE FARM CENTRE NEAR MORPETH AND HAS GROWN TO BECOME NORTHUMBERLAND’S PREMIER FARM VISITOR ATTRACTION, WHICH IS OPEN ALL YEAR ROUND.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A CREATIVE AND EXPERIENCED COOK/CHEF TO JOIN OUR ENERGETIC TEAM.

 Duties Include:

  • Observing, maintaining and complying with Whitehouse Farm Centre’s values, its policies & procedures relating to cash handling, security and  Food Hygiene regulations.
  • Assisting Catering Manager with the day to day running of "THE WHITEHOUSE FARM KITCHEN" and  any other areas of responsibility.
  • Being able to freshly prepare, cook and present food to specification.
  • The ability to follow Food Standards requirements. 
  • Maintaing high standards of cleanliness within all areas of responsibilty. 
  • Assisting with the ordering, receipt and storage of deliveries in stock rotation. 
  • Having the ability to work independently and being able to work unsupervised in all food areas.
  • Always having a friendly smile and conversing with our visitors in a courteous manner, delivering outstanding level of Customer Service at all times.
  • Being self-motivated & having the ability to work in a pressurised environment adopting ‘A Can Do Attitude’

• Catering & Hospitality qualifications or recognised equivalent or experience.
• Food & Hygiene Certificate to supervisory level 3. Or a recognised equivalent.
• Must have a minimum of 1 years catering experience.
• Driving Licence essential.
• Health & Safety knowledge essential. 

Preferred:
• A minimum of 5 GCSE’s at C level & above or equivalent. 
• To have had experience within Tourism & Leisure. 
• To have the ability to adopt new working systems and assimilate new information quickly. 
• A willingness to learn new skills as required and undertake appropriate training. 
• First Aid qualification.

Remuneration package will be discussed at time of interview and will depend on qualifications and experience.
