Facts

The largest and most ferocious owl in the world, the European Eagle Owl Bubo bubo has a deep two tone hoot.

They can live for 20 years and up to 60 in captivity.

Eagle Owls eat a huge variety of food and even hedgehogs have been known to be on the menu. There have even been sightings of Eagle owls carrying foxes in their talons

There is little difference between the male and female of the species, but if you look closely the female is much larger than the male and can weigh up to 2 pounds more!
